South Jr. High

Great news! We found out today that the newly remodeled South Junior High will be our location for our first three preview services this Fall! This is a big win for us. Great location. New facilities. Tons of parking. And the only thing really going on will be us on a Sunday morning!

Sweet

So, this is the Jayhawks’ third trip to the Sweet 16 in a row.  ESPN is definitely latching on to the whole wow-Bill-Self-is-legit-for-rebuilding-so-fast story and it is well-deserved for sure.  Honestly if we don’t get the W against Michigan State, I can’t say that I will be too sad.  I think we’ve hit it out of the park this year versus preseason expectations.  Everything else from here is gravy.

And the hard triple-double (where the third category is blocks, not assists) from Cole?  Is he really a sophomore?

No Perfect People Allowed

I mentioned this book at the meeting and in the videos. I can’t stress enough how well this book matches the DNA of the church we are going to build. If you’re not that much of a reader, please know I totally understand! But this will suck you in, I promise!

In the coming weeks I am going to talk about some stuff that really stood out to me in this book.

Back to Jayhawk Nation

One of the great side benefits of moving back is, well, Lawrence. My heart hurt to be away from the awesome electricity that was running through the city last April when Mario hit the “miracle.” I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched YouTube vids of people going nuts at the Field House, Granada and any other Mass St. venue I could find. I remember me and my brother-in-law (a K-State alum no less) going nuts at the improbable comeback and eventual title.

And look at KU now! Overachievers this year in every way, but don’t tell them that. They’re sick of hearing it. :)

But I end this post with this awesome memory. Still sends chills down my spine. I wish I was there.
